Bon Voyage

Photos of Laughing Men" taken at corner of Davie St., Denman St., and Beach Dr., Vancouver B.C.

I can't believe that I am finally going to volunteer at an orphanage in Kenya - instead of having 5 children, I will be Dad for over 110!  Rita Balachandran has invited me more than once in the last few years, and because of health issues I couldn't make it, recently said "David you really should go, and I think it will be the best thing for you to do right now."  It's really hard to say no to Rita and I think she's right, and God is calling me though her.  Four of us will be leaving this evening: myself, and my good friends; Rita, Fr. Jules Goulet, and Michael Doyle.  If all goes according to plan, we will overnight in London tomorrow, Nairobi the following day, and arrive in Meru sometime on Saturday the 18th of February.  Rita's orphanage is just outside of Meru (pop.50,000), which is 5km north of the equator (enroute we will be south of the equator, which is a first for me), and at an elevation of 1500M.  Average temps: day 27C and night 8C.

Caio, and God bless to all,
David
